ABOUT SHARON
Sharon Zimmerman
Sharon developed a love of God’s creation while romping through northeast Iowa fields and woods as a young girl.
It was in fourth grade that her love of painting was ignited by an encouraging art teacher. In high school she attended art classes and spent many hours with “How to Draw” books. Her life took on a divine purpose at age 18 when she dedicated herself to her savior, Jesus Christ. It was through his leading that she went on to college and earned an elementary education degree.
Her teaching assignments eventually led her to Kansas where she met her husband. She started watercolor painting shortly after they were married, but soon found that all her energy was required for managing a busy family, homeschooling her six children, and church involvement, as well as finding time for her own fitness and recreation. Later, with her children beyond high school, Sharon picked up her watercolor brushes again. Six years later, God led her into oil painting, where she found an outlet for her creative energies.
Through her art, Sharon finds and highlights God’s masterful design throughout the world around us. She loves focusing on the details of nature but also enjoys capturing broad sweeping landscapes. Her paintings reflect God’s masterpieces of creation, harnessing its light, color and composition. She is thankful for her husband, family, and friends who continue to encourage her to discover more of God’s purpose for her life and talents. She hopes those who view her paintings can share that sense of wonder.
Sharon had her first, full-art showcase in the fall of 2019 in Wichita, KS. Her art showcase theme was “Reflections of God’s Masterpieces.”
